There's a guy named Jennings White, who owns a Red 1957 Chevy,Modified out the wazoo.A simply incredible Detailed car.
He brings this car to most SuperChevy events this side of the Mississippi for the better part of the 1990's & early 00's.It has won it's class so often it has instant access to GOLD status at every show, and there it is Judged,& then it wins Best of GOLD Class. This is who he is,and what trips his trigger.Anyway he recently brought it to SuperChevy event....and he LOST best of Gold!
He was so dumbfounded,& beside himself, that I hear he has Boycotted all Super Chevy shows.
But I would really like to see the expression on Jennings face when he sees Steves Inciner8tor... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

He was there, and it's a pretty 57 coupe as you can see. He wasn't very cordial though... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Steve,
Congrats on the Gold on the '62 Belair! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
Did the judges have anything to say about the '63 exhaust manifolds? Technically, they could been part of a service package offered beginning in April '62, if the build date of the car is that late. But I have no idea how carefully Super Chevy judges look for those things.

Verne.

Verne,if the car was missing the manifolds altogether I doubt they would notice... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif Seriously it was hard to tell if they judged the car or just took your info from your regestration card. It's just kind of a fluff show.Nothing more than a chance to show your car and have fun!We had fun despite the rain on Sunday.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif..Thanks for the pic Joe! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

68/30,
That's kinda the way I remember those shows from years ago, back when Doug Marion was walking around making editor's picks. I didn't know if things had changed any over the years with more and more people paying attention to the details.
They do bring out some great cars though! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

By the way Belairless............what the heck do you mean, "6cyl VIN"????? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Re: SuperChevy, Norwalk, Ohio

The 6 cyl VIN thing was just a little joke I'm sure... As for Super Chevy Shows... They had eliminated the sub-classes this year, which was totally rediculous... what that meant was that ALL same-model cars (Chevelles, Camaros, Novas, etc) were judged against each other... no separation for modified, street, or stock... well, if you've ever attended a Super Chevy show, you know that means that stock restored cars were almost totally overlooked for the chrome and polish pro-street and pro-tour cars... Fortunately, enough people complained that this was not gonna fly, and starting with Norwalk, they brought back the 3 separate classes for each model of car. While most of the SC judges don't know a tower hose clamp from a hoola-hoop, at least the cars that appear stock have a chance to win something again. I still think they should have a class for original unrestored cars, as they are out of place within the same classes as fresh restorations, (especially with the way they judge...cleanliness is king over correctness) but that's never gonna happen.

CJ...the VIN and rotted floor posts were jokes of course...I'm going to hi-jack the truck and steal the car back now that it's finally getting some exposure !!! I'm sure they would never notice the 63 manifolds nor would they care....
