Jeff;
It's actually a combination of existing metalwork and new carbon fiber skins [predominantly new skins and body lines]. A magnet won't stick to most of the body, when finished. Someone earlier mentioned a "sawsall", and that's pretty close to the truth of how we treated the original body. The body will have subtle resemblance to the '70 Chevelle SS. Things like the cowl hood [operational], tail lights, headlights, grill, badging and even repro Ralley SS wheels will be a part of the exterior look. The interior will remain pretty much factory, except for custom badging, shifter and instrument cluster changes. Here's a teaser shot of one of the quarters [attachment]... |

Re: Sandlin's 2004 Chevelle SS.
Steve,
I can't wait to see the finished product. I have always said had GM brought the Monaro over and rebadged it "Chevelle", I'd buy one in a heartbeat. (My 1st car was a red '67 Chevelle Malibu.) However, I think I like this one better. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Incidentally, aluminum 454/625.... RamJet ZL1? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
