Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Hi....For SURE!!! There was a 69 L88, White coupe : from Canada. I know the car. I've been in Vettes for over 25 years. This Vette was at Bloomington in 1988, I was there too.
There has been a few sold in Canada....I know of one sold at Golden Mile which has been in storage for years. Regards |
Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Is that Golden Mile L-88 in storage in Toronto and do you know who owns it? what colour is it?

Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
I have seen two Canadian delivered L-88s... Both were post strike cars with the second design L-88 and coincidentally, both were automatics.
One is Frank Stech's Can Am white/black coupe that was mentioned previously... The other is a Daytona yellow/black coupe. Both cars have been restored and are exceptional examples. I'd be willing to bet that there were a few four speed L-88s delivered there as well, but I have not seen any documentation at this time. Regards, Stan Falenski |
Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Is the Frank Stech car the car from Bloomington '88?
|
Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
The Can Am White car was in the 88 Special Collection although it was not owned by Frank at that time. It was reportedly ordered by a dealer in Montreal and sold to a 59 year old gentleman who drove the car regularly until the age of 70. The restoration was performed by Stingray or Mississauga, Ontario.

Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Hi....That's correct. That is the same car that was at the collection in '88. I had lost track of it and wondered where it had gone too.

Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Earlier, there seemed to be a moderate amount of interest concerning the Can Am White Canadian M40 equipped L88 coupe owned by Frank Stech. For anyone still interested, that car along with Frank's red/red 13,000 mile L88 coupe is slated to be displayed at the NCRS National Convention next month in Hershey. Thought you may want to know.
Take care Mark Donnally |
Re: Canadian L-88 vette ?
Hello: I know of at least one 1969 yellow L-88 convertible that was sold new in Ontario. It was probably a stick shift and it had the optional HARDTOP! The story was that the owner didn't like it (something about overheating) and returned it to the dealer...
