Re: Motor Wheel "Fly" wheels
Tony,
------Center caps that I see in your pics arent chromed anyway.Just aluminum. You can polish them easily. ------Easy to see that they were, indeed,on a race car as the rims are drilled. These will take a polish very easily, and will look killer!...........Bill S......ol red! |
Re: Motor Wheel "Fly" wheels
Sorry for the late reply.
Bill, these center caps are chromed plastic. I was planning to send them to American Plastic Chrome to be redone--can any of you guys recommend anyone else that does good work? Also, these wheels have a brushed finish and I like the look, but they need to be refinished to look good. Is there any homegrown way to duplicate this kind of finish or should I send them out to get redone professionally? Thanks, Tony |
Re: Motor Wheel "Fly" wheels
Tony,
-----Im sorry, the pic makes them look like the aluminum caps.As far as the wheels go I used to use Scotchbrite pads and bolt the wheels to a jacked up car. After making sure the car is totally secure put it in drive and pretend you have a lathe..........Bill S......ol red! |

These wheels look very similar to factory pictures of
a Firebird Trans-Am 1972. |
