According to one magazine, Motion was also testing a ZL1 427 in a 1968 Camaro. The article is dated Dec. 1968 and states that the engine was on loan from Chevy for drag strip testing. I believe Bill Jenkins also recieved some early ZL1's from Chevy in 1968.

There were at least 3 1967 Yenko Camaro protoypes built, with at least one, possibly two that contained aluminum ZL-1 engines. The documentation is in the paperwork that remains with the Yenko estate. I have seen the hand written notes. They contain the VINs written in pink (Donna Mae). I am assuming that they were Chevy ZL-1 engines, not Yenkos. Tom
