I highly suggest placing this on the main discussion board and seeing who will chip in towards the $200. Should be no problem get 20 people kicking in $10 each, probably can get 40 @ $5 to spread it out more.
I will cause I want to use the search function. https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Kurt:

Here's what I have in mind: I would like to eventually switch the board software from the current UBB style, to the vBulletin style. The vB software is a LOT faster and easier on resources, and would fit our needs perfectly. But, here's the catch: to maintain the info we already have on the board, I need to upgrade to a newer UBB version, before I can import the old threads over to the new vB software. I'm not worried about the money, I'm just trying to get the software thing ironed out first. I think I have a newer version of UBB borrowed, so it's just a matter of making 100% sure this will work.

Here is an example of a UBB board: http://www.camaros.net/cgi-bin/forum...assCookie=true

Here is an example of a vB board: http://www.v8buick.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36

And, I'll agree...not having a search function is a MAJOR pain in the butt!

Thanks for the update.
I've used both, both work fine.
The feature I don't like is the unlimited signature lines allowed on some BB's. Some guys give the whole car's history and 5 pics, every time they post!

I agree on the signature thing. Not only is it annoying while trying to read a thread, but it sucks up bandwidth BIG time. That was the main reason the Buick GSCA board went down...bandwidth problems due to signatures, avatars, etc...it all adds up. But, vB runs totally different, and is a lot faster. I AM working on it...just slowly! https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Hey I will help out with cost!! Let me know where to send donation to and I will send it out same day. We have a great informative site here and anything to enhance it would be great.I have visited with some of the members here and all are interested in the supercars for what they are-Truly Classics that deserve highest appreciation. And I love how people share their knowledge about the quick buck artist in the world with doctored up cars claiming to be real.

Guys:

We REALLY appreciate the offers to help out...it really shows that there IS interest in these cars! And, we appreciate the offer for money! But, this is part of what your dues are for, so that is where the $$$ should come from....plus, I would rather see you guys use the money for the trip to the Supercar Reunion https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif!

Not pushing, but are we any closer to having a functioning search, or is it just me?
