Mike,
How many of the Berger's were RS's?
Also, were most of them console and guage cars?

Thanks!

Colors for the 69 Berger COPOS;
Daytona Yellow, Garnet Red, Glacier Blue, LeMans Blue, Dover White, Rally Green, Hugger Orange, & Cortez Silver. According to Dale Berger there were no Olympic Gold or Tuxedo Black cars ordered. There are reports of Olympic Gold cars but the paint codes have not been verified.

Color for the 2000 cars are: Red, Black, White & Blue. I have the exact number of cars of each color if any one is interested There were three special paint cars all done in house by Berger: Daytona Yellow, Millennium Yellow, & Cortez Silver. The Silver car was modified to 425 hp and there were six convertibles in the edition.

I hope there are not too many questions here but I have a few more on the Berger cars,
How many 4sp cars vs how many TH400?
Were they all Norwood or were some built in LA?
I have read that Berger sold about 10 1969 COPO Chevelles. Were they also 9737 cars?
thanks

Re: 1969 Berger Camaro Colors?

Consensus of opinion about the numer of Berger 69 COPO RS is 6.

It appears that half of the cars were 4spd and the other half were Turbo 400's. The 4spds were non-console/no guage (except of course for the speedo and tach) and all the cars ordered after May 1st of 69 had center fuel guages. All the 400's were console without guage clusters and also no dash guages. It also appears that the half and half transmission rule applies to the RS cars.

All the Berger 69 COPOs came from Norwood.

Berger did sell 10 Chevelle COPO's in 69 and as of 1995 only one was known to still exist. I do not know the current whereabouts of the car. I will have to check on the 9737 options for the Chevelles but I think they were equiped that way.

Berger also sold 1 69 COPO Nova.

You will have to fill us in on the COPO 69 Nova. That is a very hot topic around here!

In the Hooper Camaro book there is a picture of a 1970 Berger Super Nova with SS hood and wheels. It has a wing on the back and some graphics. Do you know if this was a COPO LT1 Nova or a 402 or 454? In the interview with Mike Mawee he said they did a few conversions but did not say what they were. The 69 COPO Nova sounds very interesting!

I have come across some information regarding the 1970 Nova in question. As far as I know, these Novas were powered by the LT1 350. This car has also been referred to as the Mystery Nova. From what I understand, this car was used as a promotional tool for Berger Chevrolet, and not many were built. Essentially, this Nova was a well-optioned street cruiser.

The '69 COPO Nova sounds interesting, what can you tell us about it?

Re: 1969 Berger Camaro Colors?

Dale Berger mentioned the 69 Nova COPO in a conversation about the Camaros and Chevelles. It was something like "oh, yeah, we sold a 427 Nova too" and that was it. I was never interested in Novas and didn't pursue it further. Appearantly I missed any interesting subject and will find out what he can tell me about it.
