You did ask for stupid help. The usual gang of idiots came through. As a charter member of the idiot club, I will give it a shot.

My guess would be a hinge pin. Obviously light duty. You been messing with a light duty cabinet, locker or even a plastic tote with hinged lid or lids?
Mail box?
Toilet seat or lid?
Height adjustment on a mower?
Plastic case for a power tool?
Garbage can?

i see something like this on my small outdoor shed hinge cover, also a bit smaller on the tap and fie set cover - seem anything plastic hinge related.

It's a thing for a thing.

Pin for a cooler lid hinge?

Maybe one of your friends decided to play a trick on you and tossed a random part on your floor just to mess with you.

Looks kinda like the aligning pin that comes with a new Hurst shifter to set the adjustment? When done, it is removed.

Alignment pin is 1/4", that plastic piece appears to be larger than that...:hmmm:

The Hurst alignment pins I have used are more like 1/4" and have a 90 degree bend at the end. This is much larger diameter.

Looks like 3/8 or 10mm in the pics.
