I think there are more '69 Z28's on the market than Chevrolet produced!

Lots of people out there who don't think they need help. The car on the right is a 16k mile completely original survivor.

That was Paul walkers car so I’m sure people were bidding crazy because of that

They must not be making as much money.

The Z seller on BaT sounds like a nice guy that obviously didn't do any homework when he purchased the car "as is" years ago. It's amazing how many people have gotten screwed over the years on many classic muscle cars, in particular 69 Z/28's! It would be interesting to know what he paid for this mess 25 years ago.

Its an 06A car so the March engine, even though its a restamp, doesnt fit the build timeline anyway. No way this hits $100K. Too much obvious altered/wrong vs the $260k car

I was planning to put my COPO on BaT but they would budge on a $130K reserve, which I wasn't satisfied with. Part of the problem was that they didn't have many BaT comparables to reference. They had a few but those cars were not freshly/correctly restored.

Am I correct in stating the tag COULD be original to the car, assuming the VIN is original to the car (nothing to make me believe otherwise at this point)?
I realize the last car out in June was VIN 664008 and this car is 664654, or about 600 cars after. But, didn't the trim tag go on sometimes a week before the car went to the assembly line and got a VIN assigned?

Just wondering if the tag at least lines up with the car. It does look like a real tag (with the altered interior code).

William 12-06-2024 12:49 PM

IMHO it is an original tag. Whether or not it belongs on that body is yet to be determined.

N664654 was final assembled on or about July 2, 1969. The production order/tag would have been released in June. Later that day, 07A cars started rolling off the line, mixed in with the last few 06A cars.
