----Chris,,,Of all the teak wheels I have ever seen and owned, I have never seen a broken or splintered one. I have seen a couple that became de-laminated due to bad care. While living in Ft. Lauderdale in the early 70's I once missed by an hour buying 25 teak wheels that a guy was selling due to his need for bail money. I was lucky a couple of years ago and scored an NOS one that's hanging on the wall in my cave!....Bill S
