You ordered the Z06? How long do they think it will take to get it?

If GM was actually serious, they would fine any dealer 2x for the advertised markup and put them in a timeout for future allotment of any new ‘Vettes. The old Japanese inspection always works….always.

Ordered the ERay. I know that is anathema to many on this site.

A little quicker 0-60, and even a bit less expensive. I plan to order the ZER performance package which means summer high performance tires (among other things). What do I need all weather tires for? Like I am going to drive it in the snow. That's what the Yukon XL Denali is for.

The reason I say "plan to" is that they cannot accept my "build and price" configuration as I set it up on the website because they won't build the first E-Ray until after September 7. So, there could be some last minute changes to available options and pricing.

I also figure that the E-Ray, not having been fully accepted by some of the "purists" in the Corvette world, might not be as long a wait.

I have not received any info on where I am in line, but should get that some time next week. They don't put you in cue until they get the $$$$.

Did you wind up going through MacMulkin?

Yes. Highest volume Corvette dealer in the world.

No "market adjustment".

The new Vette probably isn’t for everyone, but I personally like it….a lot. And the E-Ray really moves out. Plus, for the money, nothing really rivals it…..

This is one of the first videos from 6 months ago on the E-Ray Corvette by Emelia Hartford……

The Z06 is a more raw, track minded, on the edge type of machine. The E-Ray is more grand touring style. Just don't see being able to drive the Z06 at 9/10, let alone 10/10 without visiting a track; even then, I don't have the skills or experience to take advantage of what it has to offer. Just trying to be realistic.

So what if the E-Ray still has a pushrod V8? I doubt that will enter my mind once while tooling down the road.

Legally, they can't do that. They can't tell any dealer what to sell a car for because nowhere in the Chevrolet dealer agreement does it state that they can. Dealers are free to sell any vehicle for what the market bears, above or below MSRP.

GM doesn't like it because they don't want to listen to customers complain but they ultimately know that if people really didn't like it, they wouldn't pay it.

BTW, just delivered my 2nd Z06 yesterday(no, I do not have any availability and my waitlist is 4-5 years wait time).

Lynn 08-01-2023 06:22 PM

I really don't want to debate the legality or morality of the mark ups. It is what it is; and it isn't likely anyone is going to change their position based on an internet argument.

I am just thankful I found a place that WOULD sell for sticker.
