Did the 67 Z28 come with Redline tires? Fantastic Z28!

Oh my my my my....

This Z was ordered new by my life-long best friend Joel (registered in his Dad's name), who passed away far too young. 20 years last month.
Thinking back to decades past brings a multitude of memories, stories, and emotion for experiences we shared with fast cars, and life in general.

Clint, Dave and I are planning to stop by to see you soon.

Wow, the wholesale invoice is a form I rarely see. That is very cool. I wish NCRS could validate Camaro paperwork.

Because Joel was employed in the service dept he was likely privy to paperwork that retail customers never saw. Rest assured that any docs Clint received with the car are real.

The transport delivered it on a Saturday morning, Joel was not there. He got a phone call, "I don't know what the heck this thing is you ordered, but it's here!"
He went in, did the dealer prep, and made it's debut on 4the street in Waterloo that evening. Thus, the legend began....

What a sweet Z and a great score purchasing it. All original with paper work.

Funny enough. When I purchased this car, the original engine was missing (have original trans and rear) but has one of the original 1967 Z28 motors from the original 602 cars. When I ran the VIN through NCRS, it came up as a car sold new in Oklahoma. That would be an interesting connection.

I know for a fact that my friends car was hit lightly in one of the quarters. I didn't see it after it was hit, as he had already sold it and the new owner crunched it. Can't remember which side got hit. He said it wasn't bad. That car also did not have the original motor when he sold it. Car was stolen. Engine was mia when it was recovered.

Great story on your friend and a 1967 Z28, Bill. What a car.
