Is it known if the subject car is the one on the left in the Mac's 'layout' pic? As past threads, the Black 9561 M40 is known existing also it may be the Mac's delivered ZL1 in this same picture on the other side of the Toro behind the Red C10 w/ topper @ left? Looking forward to more on this one! :beers: ~ Pete . |

The car is currently at Big Creek Restoration in Ellis, Ks. I am the one who posted the pic of the red COPO on FB and have posted about it here as well. It is not my car but I am doing the restoration. The car was shipped to Mac's in Crete, Nebraska and sold new in Lincoln, NE to a spray plane pilot who later took it to his native Colorado. He owned the car for about a year and a half before trading it at a Ford dealership in Littleton, CO on a new Torino. From there it was passed down between 3 brothers in the La Hunta, Colorado area when the latter brother sideswiped a tree. The car was then put in a small shed until it was purchased in or around 1985 by a Chevy dealership owner/drag racer in Kansas who planned on fixing the damage and racing it but never got around to it. The car has 29,xxx actual miles and is very original other than the starter, water pump, heater hoses , spark plugs and wires. It even had it's original exhaust.

Jeremy,
Do you have any undercarriage pictures of the original exhaust system? Did the car have resonators? - Warren |
no resonators, i have hundreds of pics of this car but only a few on my phone and i'm not sure how to post them from the desktop
