Most companies have the seams in the wrong place. In fact I never found a company that had them correct. I had to have SMS do one special. i have the specs when you're ready...Joe

Looks great Joe, thanks for posting more photos of the car. Do you plan to retain the X33 trim or return the car to its as-built X77 configuration?

I will be removing the X33 trim and returning the car back to original configuration. Once I get the body stripped there will be some metalwork required, but there is no rust in the quarters as far as I can tell, Car came from the west coast northern California area when I bought it in 2017. 2nd owner POP shows the car in North Carolina in the early 70's. Unfortunately, the car shipper docs are not available for this VIN range.

VIN Stamp is interesting: 1N9580062, you would think it would be 19N580062 or 9N580062.

Maybe someone had too much to drink the night before....

Beautiful car, I am looking forward to following your restoration!

Does anyone know if the picture in Post #1 of the muffler with the raised numbers is an original muffler. I have what I think is an original exhaust system and my muffler has the same numbers ( 83 397969 and then 2 H 7 is above those numbers ).

Here is a better pic:

I really don't know how the muffler could have survived for 50+ years, but it could be original. It was rusted out at the bottom.
