Question for you , is your harness a new reproduction ? You may have links that you will not use if it includes wiring for U17 gages , look at the second schematic I posted

Yes, it a new repo. Sounds like I have harness for gauges and I will be changing it out.

You could just open the harness up and trim out the extra one and cap it with some shrink tubing and re wrap as needed.
