I bought some at Lowe’s in Calgary, it is window foam sealing tape, comes in rolls, & different thicknesses.

EVERY 1st gen I have taken apart has had a narrow foam strip about half as wide as the weatherstrip channel and it is kind of "goooo-ey".
My research indicates the original is a polyurethane impregnated foam seal... I have seen NOS pieces for sale in the past and it looks nearly identical to the set up I have used in restorations and is shown below. I used a open cell foam and then took a paint brush and coated polyurethane sealer into it then applied. It seals well with no wind leakage. My LA built 68 had that. My Norwood car had different. Maybe they had a couple of different suppliers...Joe
