What spatter paint did you use?

I restored my Camaro in 2011 and have had to repaint the trunk twice! I have a trunk mat and that is where the problem lies. I do not drive in the rain and have never washed the car with a hose, so there is no water getting into the trunk, it is the result of condensation between the mat and the trunk.

After I waited for the lousy dupli color paint (it is way to green and does not cover, took 6 cans) to dry for a week, I cleaned my trunk mat and decided to line the trunk with puppy piss mats that are 24x23, it took 6 out of the 10 pack.

I did this 3 weeks ago and so far so good.

Does anybody have any other ideas? Yes I want to use the trunk mat, it is quiter.

I used Dupli Color. If you are not happy with the color maybe try another brand. There must be other brands from all the restoration companys out there. As far as the 6 cans and 1 week to dry, I would call Dupli Color tech and see what they say. The bottom of the stock mat in my car has a cushion/sponge type covering. I would think any kind condensation would be absorbed by the mat. Not sure.

IIRC, one of the splatter paints was water based. It wasn't originally....

It may have dried before a week, but it stunk up the garage for 10 days. I will use the gm paint the next time, but it needs a top coat. Plus the duplicator paint is way too green, not even close.

If it's the ZL1 I would have NP giving it to a restoration shop. That's a pretty special car. Can you post a pic of the trunk and a couple of the whole car?
