Just curious, why does this car have a open element air cleaner and not the l72 4 speed air cleaner? Is it because its a Biscayne and not a ss427 impala?

Yes, that is the original correct carb, 4053 DZ. Same as the 1968 302 Z28 and 396/375.

I believe all 1968-69 L72 were open element air cleaners. The 1965-66 L72 B-Body had the dual snorkel closed element.

I'd consider a trade with cash for a survivor type car. Looking for a car I can drive and enjoy. This L72 Biscayne is more of a museum type car. I really don't want to drive it. Actually I'm paranoid to drive it. Thanks, Dave.
