Growing up in Northern MN my Grandpa's garage had a city manhole cover right in the middle of it,,,he chisled a little path under it in the concrete slab, and we pee'd down that hole, dupmed our used oil and all kinds of stuff,,,I wonder what that section of the city sewer looks like now!

My dad did the same with our used oil only it was along the edge of our gravel driveway for weed control.

I had a neighbor that would park over a sewer drain in the KMart parking lot, go in and buy oil and a filter and change it in the lot, no need to jack it up either. At least he took the old filter and empty cans (yes cans) to the garbage can outside the store.

During the 1960-70's,people in Chicago used to pull one wheel up onto the sidewalk were a sewer grate was snuggled beside the curb, and do the same.
No jacking required.

I changed my oil down town at Cabo Hall, they happened to be laying carpet that day for the Auto show, I cleaned up my mess, but my buddy drove off and left the oil in the pan, on the rug. Filter laying there. Rags. Lmao.
