Thanks Lynn,
Just a 2:73 rear gear. Not doing a complete engine rebuild.. Just want to gain a little extra power from a good cam.. Rich |
Then the one I recommended would be your best bet.
If you don't want to go with a roller, contact Eric about a comparable flat tappet cam. Unless you are planning a run at Bonneville, most "performance" cams would make your combo fall on its face from a dead stop. |
Thanks again Lynn...

Cam 268 would be a good choice. Installed a lot of Them back in the day. |
My 2 cents..
2.73 rear and Powerglide tranny...that combo doesn't spell performance
Adding the 4 barrel and a fresh valve job won't hurt, but your performance dollars would be better spent on a little more gear [maybe 3.31/3.42]...and if possible a TH350 tranny...should bolt right in where the glide is now. Those additions will add much more to the equation and enjoyment than a cam swap...once you have those items behind you, then consider other engine mods. good luck..wilma |
Best bag for you buck might be a 3:31/3:36 gear, and RPM wise it will be OK at 70 plus.
