Re: Fuzzy's collection up for sale

I got to see Bud run the Hemi Honker, the last time, at our York US 30 race. He ran it hard. Overreved the engine and the rear window trim flew off part way down the track. It had run just down the road at Cramer 522 Dragway in the 60's. I had the honer of chauffering Bud at the track several times. He and his wife were always great to talk to. Also saw the Nazy Crate run there after it was restored, before it was sold

I like that the collection isn't only Camaros and Corvettes.

Exactly, it's nice to see a collector that has not focused on one specific brand. I could easily be talked into one of those Cobra Jet cars...just saying.

Holy crap he has some nice cars. If I won the lottery and was told I could buy just one of his cars I'd have a hard time picking just one.

The black Z-11 was the first real Z-ll ever restored. That was back in 1983. It still has its original engine and aluminum. One of only three I believe with that claim.

True, but Randy D. did some outstanding work on the others!

Re: Fuzzy's collection up for sale

Questions on the Z11's,
The Strickler/Jenkins car is the first one ? Has a 3 speed where the others have 4 speeds....
Availability or gear ratio preference ?
Also it shows the Aluminium inners in raw natural aluminium.
The others have Black inners with limited info if steel or not .....

I'm aware that the aluminium cars were mostly changed over to steel early in the Sanctioning bodies Class designations when fairly new.
How many real complete aluminium cars and or Front ends are known to exist ?

2 Local Z11 cars were raced here in
Pittsburgh, PID mostly, Presque Isle , Erie, Thompson and Quaker City.
One supposedly Bought New by a Tedesco racing family member.(PITTSBURGH Raceway Park Owners)
I don't know the #, if anyone even knows ?

Supposedly the car has been found minus OEM Engine & Aluminium.

Any clarification from one in the know ???

If anyone noticed, most of these cars out of Don's Collection are from Western/Central Pa. Or Mid Atlantic Regions.....this was intended, as his preferred choice for Cars he Associated With....

Just throwing this out for all knowing something, anything to comment.

In regards to the Z-11's there is an interesting thread over at the 348-409 site about current status of them - a guess an informal registry of sorts.
