Could be -- Ernie Rogers also had a red Deuce on the showroom floor and was sold to a young lady. I don't remember seeing the Deuce much after the sell -- I think she was in the Air Force at Chanute AFB. I think Mark did buy the car from Rogers Chev. The little town of Rantoul, Il had three Deuces running the street for awhile -- Mark's, the Red one, and my Silver Deuce.

I believe CTB or CTC would have been the correct engine stamp suffixes for the 70 Yenko Deuce. CRE would be correct for an L48 350ci/300hp. CTC, CTB and CRE would share the same casting number 3970010. the Also check the casting date on the bell housing flange just below the distributor, since CRE may have been used on other applications/years. the &quot;V0414&quot; portion would equate to an engine assembled April 14th at the Flint plant.

Another baffler: There is a note in the records that states, verbatim: Rear--3:55--GM--Believed to be 1 of 3 original.

Without a window sticker, build sheet, broadcast sheet, or something similar, is it at all possible to find out how my car came originally equipped?

Just heard from Dave and he indicated he did in fact build a 377. He did not remember what happened to the original 010 LT-1 block. So it appears the engine that is in the car now cannot be the &quot;born with&quot; engine.

Also, I was under the impression (could be wrong) that all the Deuces came with a 4:11 gear. Seein' as how the car was running in the high 12's with a 3:55 makes that motor pretty stout.

I thought the same thing about the engine/block until I read the comment from Marlin about the &quot;originality&quot;. Maybe he will address the issue or at least comment on his 2015 statement.

I also was under the identical impression about the 4:11 gearing until I read the comment about a 1 of 3 3:55. Now I'm just confused! (fairly normal these days)

Another concern wherein I need some help. I'm on a &quot;Stated Value&quot; insurance policy. Obviously, I know what I paid for the car; but, I really don't have a good feeling as to what I should insure it for. When I called my insurance carrier, they wanted me to insure it for significantly more than I paid for it. Maybe they were just trying to extract a higher premium payment--I'm just not sure.

Comments as to value?

Glad to see the car is in a good home! I bought the car from Bill Ulseth in Bradford TN. It is a good car. If you look back through the for sale section of this site you can probably still find the ad I placed last fall. It is not the original motor or transmission in the car but they are the correct date codes and casting numbers for an O5D Deuce. The most important part is the original rear is still in the car.
As far as the 3:55 gears I would have to speculate that this may have been a dealer swap as a new or near new car because they are GM gears in the original housing. I feel sure all the Deuces came with the 4:10s.
