Re: WIW 72 Monte Carlo BB Survivor

DeLorean came up with great concepts. He championed cars he thought would be both successful and noteworthy for GM. He was a visionary. But he didn't "design" anything. Guys like Bill Collins and Ben Harrison were involved in that and putting it under John Z's nose. But he knew great design when he saw it and that was his strength. |
Re: WIW 72 Monte Carlo BB Survivor
I love the old Monte's.
Great site here for them: http://www.firstgenmc.com/ I have had several, a SS454 and an uber rare BB 402 4-speed Monte. Great, fun cars with no resale value at all I am sorry to say. I would say that is a 12k car all day and night, possibly as much as 15 if you were keeping it and not trying to resell anytime soon. Fun fact on the 70 and 71 Monte's. If you look at the grill emblem, you will see the knights helmet. In Roman numerals on the crest of the helmet will be the year of production, spelled out in roman numerals. http://www.firstgenmc.com/tech/differences.shtml http://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/upl...-thumb-633.jpg Rich |

Sadly I think you are right. I'll never understand it either. A '72 Chevelle 402ci in that same condition with those options would bring thousands more. Both are attractive cars, and mechanically almost identical. I guess not everyone shares my opinion, because the market sure likes Chevelles better. |

Compare prices on a 67 396 Camaro and a 67 firebird 400

Re: WIW 72 Monte Carlo BB Survivor
Thanks for all the comments, all I wanted was honest opinion's what the real value is.

Re: WIW 72 Monte Carlo BB Survivor
Or a Mustang vs. a Cougar, another great example. Of course, it means that Firechickens, Cougars and Monte's are more available for people who cant swing the "tier 1" cars, but in my opinion, are just as much fun. Rich |

I did a search and found a few SB cars listed at $17k-$19k.
</div></div> Are those small block car restored?? I'd say based on the looks It would be a 13k-15k car. These are truly great cars but will prob never see chevelle money but they do bring more than their Pontiac counter-part the Grand Prix's from 69-72. That's just my opinion on it. |
