Good idea , the M/Ts are out of a NOS Blue, white, yellow box, HOLLEY M/T EQUIPPED from 1970 ?
price on box, $26.95.....

That's the original plug on the intake....I'll knock it out before both valve covers...

Thanks

As cool as it's going to look, I just couldn't bring myself to running a fly eye air cleaner. Seems like a very lousy design for performance and filtering ability. Keep it for the shows and drive around with the stock (better designed) '69 302 air cleaner.

Also, Fill tube is fine, but I'd still want a PCV port in one cover. Function over style, ya know!

This car is going to be nice when it's done....

From what I recall most guys did not even run a PCV back then..mostly just Mr G or Cal Custom breathers.

I have a Purple AC Delco PCV I'd like to have in there somewhere.

I'll figure something out so the M/T 's stay in cut.
I like the Corvette style oil tube , hose and PCV idea.

BTW...I just saw a Whites. Speed Shop Decal on eBay.

Gotta have breathers. No PCV valve, I would have at least 1 breather in each VC.
Are those ignitions really much/any better than a Chevy single point done on a machine?
Not crazy about the fly-eyes either.
Love the tunnel ram.
Love the original skin intake.

Yeah, but PCVs serve a function and it ain't just emissions. I guess it depends on if the car gets driven or not, but for something logging street miles, I'd want a PCV. Just my $0.02.

You still need a place for fresh air to get in and flow through the crankcase to the PCV / sealed oil tube. I can't think of how you'd do it without a hole in the back of the intake open to the valley, a hole in the rear "china wall" of the block, or a hole in the valve cover for a breather. I'd cut the covers before a DZ block or factory intake.

Road draft vent and oil tube cap vent om the 68. No PCV system and no problem on the dyno. YMMV.

Re: Day 1 meets Day 2 Engine components

Paul - you've got two vents (oil fill tube and draft tube). Lots of cars built that way before 1963, so it obviously works. However a PCV with a breather on the other cover keeps the oil cleaner, reduces moisture build-up in the crankcase, etc, etc. Not a big deal for a race engine, but I feel better having one since my car sees street miles and it really doesn't cost anything to run one. I'll take function over looks. Just my opinion though, as not everyone has the same priorities.

I think Tom has a '68-up block, so there would be no provision for a draft tube or breather at the rear, like '67 and older engines.
