Re: cam shaft specs
Al, put a Crane blue print cam in. It has the exact specs to the original.

Re: cam shaft specs
I vote for a solid roller! Heck, go full driver and make a nice pump gas friendly 302 like Plowman's!

Pauls the winner..have a custom ground solid roller (Straub) going in https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-img_3662.jpg and disassembly begins.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-img_3655.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-img_3669.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-img_3670.jpg |
Re: cam shaft specs
Just my two cents, but solid roller are terrible on the street. Many times they will only live for a few thousand miles before the lifters go away.

X2. Solid roller on the street is like having a newborn. You can keep it alive, but it requires significant attention. There's a local guy that's had an old UDHarold SR stick in an 87 Mustang for years, but he changes lifters every couple years and has the idle set at 1300 rpm. |
Re: cam shaft specs
I have had a number of solid rollers..but I tend to keep them on the small side so that prob helps longevity. this one should idle at 750 and be real easy on parts. At 500 miles a year or less I dont mind the extra maint.
