These posts are about the 67 Camaro that was the first Camaro shipped to Yenko that was sold at Mecum Dallas for $300K so I'm kind of confused as to what YenkoYS100 is so upset about unless he is the one who bought the car. Even then the auction description more or less states that the car is a clone of a 67 Yenko 427 Camaro.

Are there pics of the car when it was found? Was the car together or in pieces? What parts were on the car? Though it went to Yenko, unless someone who worked there can confirm what it was used for, its just another Camaro. It looks great dressed up as a SYC, just nothing there to pedigree it as one.

A member here, found it / owned it, researched it and then sold it, to Gary who in turn sold it at Mecum.

Actually, one SYC member ZL1#61 found the car, researched the car, paid for the car and partnered with another previous SYC member to sell it. ZL1#61 was just happy to get his money back when the car was sold, he was not involved with the sale to Gary.

That is not quite how it worked out Steve however it's close. The car was completely together and was a decent driver when it was found. That being said, the car did have some issues however it is certainly a legit car. I am amazed that it sold for that amount as I did not perceive the car to have that kind of value. The car have no pedigree beyond a standard 327 coupe. That being said, it was a very, very early production and according to the body number was one of the first Camaros built. I believe it was an August of 66 production perhaps even the first week of production.

All of my info indicates that this was just an &quot; average &quot; Camaro that happened to be delivered to Yenko from early production. It was still listed on the floorplan a year later. Probably used as a customer demo.. I may have chased parts in it , but I used a lot of different cars for that !

Thanks for the reply Kurt. According to the cowl tag that was on the car when it was found, it was produced 08B and has a body number of 1557.

That being said, the tag had issues.
