Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
Darrell - that sure looks consistent with the one on ebay - what is that white sticker (or is it tape) on the last pic?
Do you believe or feel your is an orig hood as well? Was yours as pricey as the one on ebay? Thank you for the pics ..... |
Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
PS...that looks like a nice subframe bottom cradle in the pic....looks perfect!

Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
My father got this hood back in the 80's. It was part of a purchase and trade. The sticker is unreadable. As far as originality I am uncertain at this point. I can see slight differences between my hood and the one on ebay.
As for the subframe there are actually more than just one there. Also a few sets of take off sheetmetal under the awning too. |
Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
the under hood supports are different
the ebay one has smaller radius edges where the other is larger radius the hood hinge bosses are different those types of details are also different on the hoods I have seen over the years hard to say if it was from hood makers copying each other or if Fastglass made them different over time. would need to compare them to the known originals |
Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
Heres another for comparison.

Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
that hood looks to have the molded bottom piece design
I have a 1967 A&A Fiberglass hood catalog and they were using that design In 1967 but the lower cost hood mfg like Fastglass didn't use that design in 60s and early 70s but some did start to copy A&A with the molded bottom later. More details to make it hard to ID a hood. A&A and others did have a part number on some hoods and some companies would put a card on the bottom and glass over it. Most old glass hoods I've seen have no ID. I have a fiberglass trunk lid that has a card dated 1969 glassed in and you can still read it today |
Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
That's cool Joe.

Re: BM 69 Camaro Hood
very interesting reviews and pics.....it seems, unless you have an authentic, documented with pics from an orig car, these hoods are hard to determine as orig hoods. Even with that, there seems to be various manufactures copying each other.
Neat hood, but a big risk at 1500. Looks like it is relisted . |
