X2 on this pic. Great retro look on the car and with the young lady giving the peace sign. All my kids, now in their mid to late 30's, and son 40, just about all the grand kids shoot the peace sign these days, especially my oldest son, he was the one that hung around me back in the day when It was the thing to do.

Why does that paint scheme look so familiar? Haven't I seen that before in older pics or is this the same car?

Garyc.. Was on the front of hot rod in 78. Fell in love with that car in high school and found a 25,000 mile cortez silver 69 zee. cowl hood car. kinda familiar huh. Well, I gave it its first repaint. here it is.
I have the original matching number motor on the stand. I figured I can change it back at a later date if I decide to. I'm having fun with it now and all my friends think I am crazy for modifying a real zee.
I'm sure my boys will be fighting over it when I'm gone. all good. It seems a lot of people were using that paint scheme in the 70's and early 80's. still cool to me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...allenpaint.jpg

I do remember the Challenger now that I see it. Is the Camaro you have now the one on the HotRod cover? Damn and I thought I was loosing brain matter. As my ex-wife use to say, "I've forgotten more than you'll ever remember".

When I had my first 10 10 Z I wanted to do the flames just about the same as member BBBentley had on is Z, with part of the leading edge in white first then into yellow and blue tips. The black was done but my ex was ready to download our second baby and we all know what that means, so I ended up with this instead in 75. If I had the extra cash I surely would have done it, but ended up putting that cash I scrimped and saved away for the new one which was a girl and we all know what they require.

As you can see the stripes were wrong, but then who knew and the rear bumper brackets and wheel well trim still needed to go on. You can't see it much in these pics but I had the Camaro fender emblems shaved and a large gothic letter Z painted there.

Man I love that old school look. Beautiful paint job, very shiny, quality work.
I would never change that car.

I gave it its first paint job. Had its original cortez silver paint when I bought it. Needed paint bad. the silver is 69 cortes. The other colors are PPG water based candys. Heres my favorate photo of it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-zeefront1.jpg
