Switch should be mounted on the other side of the bracket.

Does anyone have an estimate how many nova's would have had this bracket? I know that this is a pretty limited market, and if i get enough interest to do this it might just be a one run deal. I am also contacting parts suppliers to see if they have any interest. This will be a made in USA part. Thanks,Roger

I would guesstimate 1200-1500 1970 BB Novas with the THM400 L34 and L78. possibly 50% would put the number at 1800 +/-. I would be interested in one. Iam using a 1968-1969 style that mounts to the carb base on my white beater. I think G----d Up was offering one a few years ago but I will have to look and see. Let me know if you are going to go through with this project. the post earlier mentioning the idle stop solenoid bracket is another RARE animal!!! The solenoids themselves are obtainable but not the brackets that I know of.

According to the Nova Resource website stats...Between the L34 and L78 engines there were 5567 BB Novas produced in 1970...there were 1236 [total] Novas equipped with the M40 TH400 transmission...**keep in mind that some of the Yenko Deuces also came with a TH400.

So approx. 22% of the Novas produced had the TH400...

From info I have from Nova owners, some of the early L78 cars used a carb. mounted kickdown switch [it was a different design than the 68-69 version] there was probably a transition to the gas pedal switch sometime in the late fall of 69...our January 70 TH400 L78 has the pedal mounted switch.**you will note in the photo the gas pedal has the mechanical linkage...this switched to a cable at the end of 69 or very early in 70...as Nova folks know, there were many minor changes mid-year 1970.

Hi all, don't mean to cut in on your thread but I just noticed
that in the picture of the Carb. mounted switch,
it doesn't show the other part that mounts to the
throttle shaft.
If you are doing a early car and in need of these parts
I have a complete set including an NOS Switch for an L-78
that I have keep over 20 years.
If I remember correctly my car was a late Sept. car and still used
the early version kick-down and Throttle rod.
E-Mail me and I can send pics if you would like.
Still not getting this Photo/bucket thing.
