Re: Original solid cam vs. full solid roller
My sister has the Crower SS roller rockers under Motion covers. From the looks, they would fit a stock cover and these guys seem to agree (1st posted when I did a quick search to verify my suspicions).

Re: Original solid cam vs. full solid roller
I put roller cams in my last 2 engines. Partly because of not wanting to deal with wiped lifters. Roller lifters are pricey

Re: Original solid cam vs. full solid roller
The 143, soft break-in springs and a set of GOOD EDM lifters and you should be fine. A roller does eliminate the hassle & worry of breaking in a flat tappet, but at roughly 3X the cost.
Several roller rockers will work under OE covers. One of the *tricks* is to use a set of short Crower poly locks on the intake rocker studs and use a thick valve cover gasket. I can help with whatever parts you may need if you'd like, just send me a PM. Eric |
Re: Original solid cam vs. full solid roller
Study up on the oil (+zinc) you're going to use -- flat tappets will run forever with the right oil ... check other forums here. The 143s do not need a set of gorilla springs to work. Excessive pressure, the wrong oil and improper break-in is what will wipe the lobes for sure.
