Re: 69Z Air Cleaner Cover - Silk Screen
Not sure what you mean by carb to air cleaner rod?
|
Re: 69Z Air Cleaner Cover - Silk Screen
I think Eddie is talking about the threaded stud that screws into the top of the carb.

Re: 69Z Air Cleaner Cover - Silk Screen
I have no reason to believe this is not the original air cleaner stud for the 10D open Element Car I have. The carb was very original including the correct base plate before I sent it to Eric Jackson.
First pic shows the base of the stud, the second shows the length. With the assembly completely installed - the stud bevel at most sticks through the top wing nut https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3...0/100_4062.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-j...0/100_4089.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-z...0D_carb_B4.jpg |
Re: 69Z Air Cleaner Cover - Silk Screen
thank you - ill see if i can get a measurement from your pics to a real carb. Also - the plating on the rod - looks like in the restored photo it is zinc plated.......should it be phosphated with a chrome nut?

Re: 69Z Air Cleaner Cover - Silk Screen
I believe zinc plated Ed. And I thought Johnny K. was tough.
