Re: Lug Nuts

Are the 69 and 70 (and later) SS lug nuts same? Are the rally Z and SS lugs the same? Market might be huge.

Re: Lug Nuts

Every car with a YA or AO code wheel used these lug nuts as well as on 71-72 Chevelle SS with the 15X7 5 spoke as used on 70-73 Z28's. So yes Sam 69-70 Chevelle SS cars did use these. I personally would love to see somebody make these lug nuts as I too have been looking for correct NOS for years and so far have only collected enough for 1 wheel. Those are tough pieces to find for sure.

Re: Lug Nuts

Were these correct original lug nuts chrome plated as a unit when done? My Deuce lug nuts may be originals (I have 19 of 20). They have the tall necks on them like the photo of the survivor 70 Z 28 above. I'll get a photo of them and post it. As I recall, the stainless cap attached to the lug nut have all been chromed as a unit.

First photo is the set from my Nova (however, two lug nuts in lower right do not match the other 18 lug nuts). The SS wheels on my car are 'AO' wheels and were installed by the Yenko dealership after the car was delivered from the factory. So, I am not sure where they sourced their lug nuts.

Re: Lug Nuts

those are not original G.M. Sam.

Re: Lug Nuts

Donnie,

Are you saying that none of above lugnuts are G.M.?

Re: Lug Nuts

Sam,
I can't tell you what Yenko would have put on your Deuce, but the original GM lugnut was a stainless capped part, not a chrome plated steel piece. Your profile looks very similar to what the original poster was referencing.

Thanks Chris.

Sam, I was referring to the ones on your Deuce.

Sam,

Chris is right about the capped lugs. Here's one off my 05D Arlington built car. Check the lugs on your '69 Chevelle. Should be the same.

Who knows what Don would have used. Maybe Schonye or Marlin can shed some light? Or Tommy K? His two unrestored cars might answer some questions.
