Forgive my ignorance but what did the ZR1 option entail in 1972?

He brought the ZR1 to MCACN for Legend Judging. The car is absolutely fantastic. Completely original survivor with original tires. Extremely low miles. What a car! Ed </div></div>

That car was bought at Bachrodt's right here in Rockford if I remember correctly. I agree - a fantastic car.

Only fifty-three ZR-1 Corvettes were produced from 1970-1972 and consisted of;

LT-1 Engine
Muncie M-22 &quot;Rockcrusher&quot; Heavy-Duty Transmission
J-56 Heavy-Duty Brakes
Transistorized Ignition
Special Aluminum Radiator
Heavy-Duty Suspension consisting of upgraded Springs and Stabilizer Bars

Re: 1972 ZR1 corvettes

Here 'ya go . . . . . about 10 years ago I had an itch for a 1968-72 chrome bumper Corvette and went to look at a '70 that was advertised as simply &quot;1970 Chevrolet Corvette 350 4-Speed $7500&quot;. Well, I get to the alley garage where the car is and I immediately notice the big LT-1 hood on this Steel Cities Grey car. I think that's nice and as I'm walking up I see the big Holley and factory aluminum hi-rise intake manifold! I stick my head in the window and there IT is on the console, 350-370 HP. Wow . . . . this car is an LT-1 I think to myself and to the fellow that had owned it for the last 20 years it was simply a &quot;350 Corvette&quot; that didn't even have air conditioning! Incredibly, I passed on the car because of a severe case of frame rot right in front of the back wheels. I mean the car actually looked really good but I would have been afraid to even put a hydraulic jack underneath it because it was so bad. Anyway, I turned a buddy on to it and he was the one who discovered the special brake calibers on it and the ZR-1 heritage. Some people call these cars &quot;the small block L-88's&quot; and I kinda missed out on this one slipping right by under my nose.
