Not muscle, but '67 was the introduction of, in my most humble opinion, the most beautiful car ever. The All New Front Wheel Drive Cadillac Eldorado. I know '67 wasn't the first Eldo, but it is in my mind.

How do you see that? A change from tri-power to 4bbl Quadrajet for both manufacturers is hardly an improvement - more of a lateral move due to silly GM internal politics surrounding the 'Vette. Horsepower pretty much stayed the same at 360 HP ratings for both in '67, and the 389 to 400HO changeover at Pontiac I don't consider a vast improvement. But that is a matter of opinion of course. </div></div>

So, basically, Olds and Pontiac were AT THE VERY LEAST maintain the same performance with one carb instead of three.

Sounds like an improvement to me!

Besides, do you think a '66 Ram Air GTO was the same as the '67? The '67 was an improvement on so many levels, not to mention there was much wider distribution of a more cohesive package.

Anyway, still not finding the answer why 1967 was such a strange year at Chevrolet.
