Re: 2,876 mile 69Z
I dont honestly think theres a stitch of original interior in that car. I like how he says he meticulously reproduced every item on the car to make like it was in 69 but that repro tag is a joke. Never had a plate on the front to begin with and the rear plate isnt even close to what a 69 pa tag looks like. Im no expert but wrong radiator cap and should have side terminal battery post on a late car shouldnt it?? I bet if i was there in person it wouldnt take long to pick it apart.

----Don,,,Although I was thinking of this particular Z when I mentioned interior, I was really more referring to original low mileage cars that have had restorations in general......Bill S

wow.. Another Philly car.. Wonder who the original owner was and what part of the city he was in?

Re: 2,876 mile 69Z
The car does have a great story and a very nice resoration. I would say it would be worth asking price if it looked like that and was a survivor.
But it is 'just' a low mile restored car. I would say the mileage, the documentaion and the story are with a premium over another beautifully restored 69 RS Z28. |
Re: 2,876 mile 69Z
Who cares about mileage when it is frame off restored? There is no difference now. Just my opinion.

Re: 2,876 mile 69Z
I am sure you guys saw this car or at least read about this car a few years back. This car was pretty much discussed about all these things then. Matt, I agree with you. If a car is frame "offed" or frame "upped" you can throw the mileage out. But again...JMO.

Nice color and the red interior really pops!. Each their own but sounds like it may be a shame it was ever resto'd?! Can't help but wonder what it was like before...another survivor lost?. Re: 2,876 mile 69Z
my understanding was it was sitting outside for a looonng time.
I agree that a full resto essentially wipes out what is special about original patina. But since restoring my 18K mile Nova, I have to agree with Bill, that generally speaking, the car retains more of its original parts and the car itself needs less "messing with" to complete the restoration. Of course the car should only be restored if it HAS to be restored, i.e. already repainted. |
