Re: Correct Part Number 67 Z28 leaf springs ?
Thanks William,
I have the books, but just wanted to confirm hehe... Thanks Denis... a few more questions now....first, the stenciled part number on your springs is different than the nunber William listed. Any ideas why??? I thought of stenciling the part number as I have seen on other cars also. And I see the leafs in your pics look to be painted gray, or primer...What is the correct color?? Thanks,, max |

Thanks,, max</div></div> Due to a long ago computer crash, I lost the records from when I purchased the leaf springs but as I remember it, the number on the box matched the one in Jerry's book whereas the number stencilled on the springs themselves was different. There was no doubt though that it was the original box. The original finish was a darkish grey as seen in the first photo but with too much shelf wear to keep as is. I painted them with DP50 epoxy primer and a coat of catalyzed clear. |

GMPD regularly substituted parts: order '68 Z/28 rocker covers and they sent chromed '69s, later 1-piece rotors were sent under the 2-piece number, '70 Nova 396 emblems replaced '69 Camaro emblems. Annoying to say the least. |

Also GM casting numbers were not always the same as the part number.
