Street Tires.

It looks like in the picture that he use's a piece of flat stock on the bottom and straps on top. Just long enough to connect to the second leaf. Has anyone else seen this?

You can go top or bottom and can vary the length on the bar stock. longer the bar, more clamps required.I use roughly a 12" bar with 2 clamps

Then you won't need to get too wild with the flat stock, etc...just a couple of clamps ahead of the axle will do fine. Pure Stock tested, Pure Stock approved!

I've got a KILLER set of the Harrell clamps/bars that Big Steve made for us a few years ago (wouldn't pass Pure Stock tech) that we've ran on a couple cars for the vintage look...I'll try and grab a picture for you, as they're identical to the setup found in the magazine, only prettier!

Like I said above, unless you're running something that's gonna get some hook [and a street tire, or even a good Polyglass isn't gonna do it] then just some simple spring clamps will work sufficiently...adding clamps or clamps+bar aren't gonna add any traction, they're just gonna allow you to hold whatever traction you *do* get.

Anyway, pictures of the beautiful pieces from Big Steve, now residing on our '69 Yenko Nova...

Ok, the spring clamps look great - would love a set myself! However, you gotta scotch-brite that drive shaft, and swap out that bird cage on the left spring! What are slicks doing on that car????

Like Rob said, they basically keep the traction you have and keep the springs from twisting up like a pretzel, also keep the rear center section from bashing the floor "somewhat"
