No PS, no PB, no heater, no radio, lousy shifter, bias ply tires, rode like crap, handled like an elephant on roller skates, nimble as a wagon load of bricks, ..................... God I loved those cars!!!!!!!
Couldn't be better!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Marc's (67belair427) 62 Belair 409!
You're not kidding Dennis - I drove Dad's 409 again this past weekend - with new radials, power steering and brakes, and a Hurst shifter, and it was still a handful unless going straight. How on earth anyone drove these cars fast back in the day is beyond me.

Re: Marc's (67belair427) 62 Belair 409!
look at the lines on that car! 18 year old kids in their hopped up hondas with the farting beer keg exhaust would even appreciate the look of this beauty, i hope.

Re: Marc's (67belair427) 62 Belair 409!
What a sweet piece!!!
Regardless of straight line performance, pulling gears while driving sideways and whole feel of controlling the monster is what I like and miss most about these cars.. ~ Pete |
