Re: yenko stripes...what were used as the template
No idea what they'd be worth, I'd guess they'd be worth more as a collector's item than as something someone would actually try to install. i'd guess applying 40 year old stripes would be quite a challenge, and I'd personally think they'd be cooler to have in NOS/unused condition anyhow. As for the thought they were all hand cut, I dunno... I just can't believe someone sat and cut out 500+ stripe kits with an x-acto knife and a straight edge...not to mention another couple hundred Vega kits, plus spares.... I'd think if that were the case they'd still be finishing up the last few sets as we speak.

Dig that note out. I'd be interested in who that was. Cronkleton's had damage when the original owner had it. He wound up having the left qtr painted on.

I'll have to work on that... if my memory serves me correctly I believe it was a woman who was requesting the stripe.

Not quite as long. Had the goatee before senior pics. That's the last time it came off. Why mess with perfection.
Senior pics were only 40 years ago. I can think of one gal that might have had her name on the title of a deuce, maybe 2. |

Re: yenko stripes...what were used as the template
I'd be careful of the 'NOS Stripes' in the box, just be sure they are from '81 or so. We had a connection in NY who had 24 sets hand cut back in 2000 or so, took her a few days to knock 'em out (both me and Joe have a set on our cars). If the stripes that are being offered to you are indeed originals, I would not use them - they will be a handful to manage, won't uncurl very well, won't stick for long, and are thick vinyl (which means they will start to crack pretty quick). The best use for NOS stripes is bragging rights, and template use.

And in that order. |
