Great find on the old thread.

Re: 1969 L78 Nova SS 7k Miles
Zach, Larry kept all of the titles and paperwork at his home and the cars were all in a storage building. After he passed the people went through his stuff for the titles. I would say that you may be able to contact his girlfriend to try and track down the original paperwork on the car. It may still be around, you just have to ask the right people.

I just bought a 1969 Nova that was built Feb 1969 (02C) and it looks like it might have a later build sequence than this March 1969 built Nova. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif My documented 69 Nova SS (build date 03D) is 63,205 sequence numbers higher than this 03A sequence number.....Can this be correct? |

Re: 1969 L78 Nova SS 7k Miles
This car sure does look nice. The reserve isn't met yet at 35k. I would think on a car of this quality it would at least have the correct trim on the rear interior panels. The one picture with the driver side seat up shows the trim missing https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
I am not knocking the car for this it is nice! I am just pointing this out for a potential buyer. I know I would be up set! Jason |

Re: 1969 L78 Nova SS 7k Miles
So according to the ad, there are 2 discrepencies. Davis vs Evans and M20 vs M22. I contacted the seller with 2 questions and am awaiting an answer. Most drag cars had the orig. drivetrains replaced very early in life. So...HVYCHVY is it your opinion that this is a 7K mile restore or a fake?

Re: 1969 L78 Nova SS 7k Miles
I spoke to Larry numerous times about this car when he first got it...he had lots of L78 Nova questions. I never really understood the condition of the car compared to the stated low mileage. He was a good "car guy" and really loved the hobby...
It would have been fun to have met him in person. He is probably watching the auction from a cloud https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |
Re: 1969 L78 Nova SS 7k Miles
