Re: STP Dispenser Rack-Vintage

Ha! Way back when (in sixties...yup, I'm ancient), there was an old goofy tale in the Canadian prairies that STP was built from the ashes of the old Studebaker company. And "STP" stood for "Studebaker Tickled Pink". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif

Anyway, very neat display item.

Re: STP Dispenser Rack-Vintage

Although not as Wayne's tale above, there was an association between Studebaker and STP..
Our friends were a Stude dealer to the end (actually still operating today too) and years ago they showed me the original tiny jar of STP product sent to them by Studebaker Packard Corp. when SPC owned STP...late 50's/very early 60's I believe?.

Very Chttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gifhttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gifL piece Rick!.

Re: STP Dispenser Rack-Vintage

That's true.
The early sTp 8oz. cyl. cans declare "a product of Studebaker" as their manufacturer on the lower back bottom.
Sometime around 1969-70,they dropped that per owner Andy Granatelli I believe.

Re: STP Dispenser Rack-Vintage

So the cans that have the word MAGIC above the STP name and marked Studebaker-Packard must be from the earlier 60's than the one you posted Rick?.

Ever seen or heard of the little glass jars of STP?.
They may've been samples and not retail items?.
