Re: Hemi project anyone?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] A "parts car"!? I really don't think so. It looks to a number-matching Hemi, 4-speed, Dana car that looks very complete to me with all of it's hard-to-find-parts intact along with a relatively solid, rust-free body. I'm sorry but that looks to be a great restoration candidate and it would be a sin to part that car out. [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree, but at anywere near the asking price it likely won't sell. My comments were directed at the poster stating they think it is a $35K car. At that price it will part for more. This one has been listed for several months and I am told it can be bought for $70K. Service replacement block, but info back to original owner. For the difference in price why would you spend the money and a year of your life restoring the subject car when you could be driving and having fun? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-426-...=item1c0f05d499 [/ QUOTE ] May not make sense financially, but some prefer wrenching more than they enjoy driving. I have a 68 RR hemi clone that's "done" but it normally sits in the garage while I'm turning wrenches on something else... Scott |

Scott [/ QUOTE ] That is true as well, however I think when people have a choice of buying something that they KNOW they are going to be buried in vs. buying a done car that they are not MOST will choose the latter. |
