'70-2 Olds are definitely galvanized and my bet is Ryan's '69 is the same finish on the straps. GOOD progress Ryan.

The girls were away this weekend so Jamie and I got a couple visits to the igloo.

I wire wheeled more floor, the area above the rear end, and started the passenger rear wheel well. Found a few small rust spots but nothing major.

We removed the master cylinder for rebuild, the clutch and brake pedals for new bushings and to remove the extra brackets welded onto the clutch. We took the heater box off and started to look at how to get the heater core out.

We (Jamie) removed the clutch shaft bellows off the firewall.

Lots of fun, and lots more to go.

Pictures tomorrow.

PS: I looked at my schedule and with this slow period I am two months behind:-( And the floors/firewall are 19 visits away from done. Time to add a mid week visit somehow.

Nick Morocco is busy working on my third Muncie. (That is totally reasonable right?)

The M22Z gear set is on order and he is getting a Heim joint linkage to reduce the friction in all the swivel points. (Don't tell the purists) (Do tell the DAY-2 guys)

This Trans will be a mix of Frankenstein parts as numbers are not a concern, but it will be the same input and output spline as my other Muncies. 10 spline input, 27 spline output.

Locate and find your hidden firewall VIN stamp....I think I see an upside down 2?

Stick your hand way down the heater blower hole and see how much debris and leaves are trapped inside the bottom cowl corners.....use a long vacuum hose and air hose to loosen the debris and suck it all up. Also check how weak the metal is in the lower firewall drop corners.....very prone to rust in that weak area.
