At it's peak in 2004, Blockbuster Video had more than 4,500 stores in the US. Now there is just one . . . . located in Bend, Oregon (shown). |

https://s26.postimg.cc/87ewo4y3t/555.jpg Santa Pod is the venue in which the current world drag racing record, a time of 3.58 seconds at 386.26 mph (621.61 km/h) was set by Sammy Miller in his Vanishing Point rocket-propelled funny car in July 1984. As impressive as that is, it is not the fastest 1/4 mile time set. That record belongs to Kitty O'Neil. In 1977 in the Mojave Desert, Kitty O'Neil piloted a hydrogen peroxide powered rocket dragster built by Ky Michaelson to the quickest quarter mile elapsed time in auto history, with a timed run of 3.22 seconds at 396 mph (637 km/h) with an average speed of 279.5 mph (449.8 km/h). This was in the desert not on a track. |

If you remember a ways back I had stated that scorpions were older than sharks by about 10 million years (430M vs 420M). The horseshoe crab is even older: 450 million years. Though they are called "crabs" they are not crustaceans. They are arthropods and have more in common with spiders than they do with crabs. |

Fireflies are not flies. They are beetles. Their produced "cold light" is unique as it has no infrared or ultraviolet frequencies |
