Is this a 27 spline slip yoke? (26 peaks and one missing peak)

Do they all have one spline missing?

Ryan

Great thanks

Would you call that a 27 spline?

If the tail shaft is 27 splines ... yes

Makes sense, what is the groove for, assembly line installation? Balance?

Geezz -- its been awhile ... but I vaguely remember there were applications where the output shaft had a matching wide spline. May have been for balance purposes. I am sure there are others on this sight may have more input. TAZ

Ryan </div></div> Most probably for easy installation and removal of driveshaft. Air and suction have space to enter and escape from missing spline.Good progress on this w 31 so far Ryan.

I am getting closer to having all my items related to the transmission planned out.

FJ Smith (Ontario drag racer) may have a used BOP blow up proof bellhousing if so I have asked for a signature on it:-) if this doesn't work out many people have their eyes out for me.

I only need to order a pilot bushing/bearing and throw out bearing. Need to call Crash as suggested.

I am confirming an order to buy a good quality angle grinder, cup wire wheels, a straight wire wheel and a 45 degree wire wheel to get in corners, gloves, and I already have N95 masks, coveralls, face shield, safety glasses, ear muffs, I have 6 mil poly to lay down to keep the igloo floor nice and clean, I also plan to cover the car and tape off around the edges to keep the crap off the outside of the car, I will also tape over the 4 speed hump......... This is going to suck:-) Wish me luck:-)

I will try to borrow a big fan to blow the debris and dust out the door.......

This may be the time to re-engage the teenage boy:-)
