Re: Judges/birds
This is a great thread but seems like it lost steam, Anyone here have any 69 Blue Judges?
|
Re: Judges/birds
Is your car Liberty Blue?
|
Re: Judges/birds
No gtaa9, I am hoping to find a Liberty Blue and Windward Blue 69 Judge but no luck yet. I was just curious if anyone on here had any shades of Blue Judges since you do not see many of them out there.
|
Re: Judges/birds
It was my understanding that Windward Blue was a Firebird color, and if it was available on the GTO, it was an extra-cost color available later in the year. Is this true.
Otherwise, Warwick Blue is the other blue available in 1969. |

And a 70 White exterior with Red Interior, 4 speed.
|
Re: Judges/birds
I really like that warwick blue color its very nice.
|
Re: Judges/birds
Yes, Windward Blue was indeed a Firebird color that you could special order on a GTO. It was option code SPS and cost $100.05 extra. I have seen 2 and 1 was a RA IV Judge, and the other had a White Vinyl top std GTO.
Bandit, What happened to your warwick Judge? I remember looking at your pics when you posted them somewhere around 2 years ago. |
Re: Judges/birds
The last I heard it was in California. Should have kept that too.
|
Re: Judges/birds
How many Judges have you owned?
|
Re: Judges/birds

Re: Judges/birds
Resto in progress. It was actually really straight, just extra paint on the primer from the bodywork.
---> HUGE PICTURE <---- |
Re: Judges/birds
Looks like my old Judge. Not too many Warwick blue, Blue interior, no console, 4 speed, and ac Judge's around.
I never met the guy I sold it to in person. That must be him in the Judge shirt. I have an orange Judge shirt, I have never seen a blue one. Pretty cool! |
Re: Judges/birds
I know the 69 is a RAlll because of the AC, are the other two cars RAlll's or lV?

Re: Judges
per Lengendary ad:
"1971 marked the last of the three year production run for the Pontiac GTO Judge. This final year accounted for less then 3 percent of total Judge production, because of this low production 1971 is a favorite amongst collectors and enthusiasts. The Judges that get the most attention and are the most sought after are, the Judge convertibles. The Judge convertibles are ultra rare especially in 1971 with production totaling only 17 units. This original and fully documented Judge Convertible was sold new in Charlotte N.C. It is finished in its original color of Tropical lime, with a black interior and a black top. It is equipped with a numbers matching 455HO engine and Hydra-Matic transmission . Some accessories include power steering, power brakes, rally gauges, Am radio, honeycomb wheels, center console, remote driver’s mirror, sport mirrors, and much more. Fresh rotisserie restoration with great attention to detail, this is an immaculate car with only test miles since completion. This is a unique and very special opportunity to acquire an ultra rare muscle car." Last one I heard sold was in $300K range (x 18 mos ago) and not as nice as this one. |
Re: Judges
why don't you look at the link I sent? It was all kinds o pics and info on it there. Its an automatic
|
Re: Judges
Here's a car from the POCI show.
|
Re: Judges
Links not working, but maybe it will in a bit.
Is it one of the 17? |
Re: Judges
Yes its the one from up in around New England. Was sold to Legendary for 190k plus fees. He also bought the Orbit Orange 70 Judge convert. dont you guys remember this car?
|
Re: Judges
Don are you talking about the one 442 is posting about?
442 I still can't get the pic on yours, can you email it? By the way, I got the VIN and PHS on car 8. 71 Judges |
Re: Judges
Don,
This is NOT the same 71 from the Paul McInnis auction in NH a few months ago. That one was a dark green car restored maybe 10 years ago by Scott Tiemann. I know for a fact that Legendary did not buy that car or the color-changed Orbit Orange turd from Anthony at that auction, as I was there and standing with Peter from Legendary. I was the underbidder on the Tiemann restored 71, but came to my senses and stopped bidding https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif I think this tropical lime car has been under resto at LMC for a long time and the owner is looking for trades - last I heard of it LMC did not own the car. Colin |
Re: Judges
As both cars Colin is talking about are two of the three I have VIN/PHS on; neither of those should have any questions, whether you have been around them or not.
So I'm guessing the one 442 posted and I can't see is the Brown's old car. IMO neither of those even comes close to Gary's old one, number 4 on my list. |
Re: Judges
Yeah your right Colin. I wonder if its the one Dan Mckinnon from virginia had. I think he sold his to that restoration shop in New York, then I heard Kevin had his hands on it. Whats that guys name? He's always in the Pontiac magazines.
|
Re: Judges
Don,
Are you thinking of Melvin Benzaquin in Sloatsburg NY? His shop is called Classic Restorations or something like that...he had a basket case 71 tropical lime Judge vert for sale for $40k at the same time I bought my black 70 4 speed one from him (when it was painted Granada Gold). He writes for some Pontiac mag...the guy is pretty crooked imho, his work was crap and the Judge I bought had to be re-restored even though he had just charged a guy over $100k to do it. After I sold it he found the new owner from Brooklyn, had him bring it in for service and next thing you know I saw a mint 273 carb for sale by Melvin on eBay and the new owner of my car came after me saying the convert had the wrong carb according to the shop working on it! That makes 2 273 carbs he got from 1 car. LOL Colin |
