BIG </div></div> Thanks Big! I love the stance in your shot. My pic was taken ~1982. I'm about to pull it down off the rotisserie this weekend. It's been a long time coming. Here's another great shot of a nice stance. My Pops about to launch back in the 60s. I love the old Gassers. God willing I'll build one some day. http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/...HawkUSMC/A.jpg |

BIG </div></div> I can recall stuffing BBC, A/C springs into SBC Chevelles with no A/C to get that "tall" stance in the 1980s. Pair it with some wagon springs and air shocks out back and you were ridin' high! |
Re: Is "stance" important?
I took this earlier in the year when Dan Vasic came up to Wisconsin for Movie Night.

Re: Is "stance" important?
Replaced the rear springs with stock height springs from Moog, thought it was too high at first but now I am liking it.

Re: Is "stance" important?
That latest '69 Camaro was/is one of my all-time favorites. I'm a little confused, though (easy to do!). Is that the original or a duplicate? I thought I read that someone else liked it and did their own rendition. Looks GREAT!!!

Near perfection..perfect stance, tunnel ram sticking out of the hood, skinnies up front, fatties out back..(is the word fatties ok? Don't want to hurt anyone with micro aggression..sorry in advance)

Re: Is "stance" important?
yes my car is a copy, tribute, clone or whatever they call them these days. When I painted it I had no idea the original was still around. Found out later. When I was in high school I picked up the latest hot rod magazine (to read in class of coarse..) and fell in love with that car. I started with a 25,000 mile original cortez silver Z28. It still has the original seats ,door panels, carpet ect.. The DZ motor sits on a stand in my shop. My youngest is a sophomore in high school. Heres his high school car.. He drives it every day! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ustinsgas2.jpg

Re: Is "stance" important?
Well folks, since I started this thread, I'm going to try and be the 500,000 view to this thread with my latest SuperCar Stance. Guess I'll need to watch this like a hawk as we only have 290 to go.....
|
Re: Is "stance" important?
To the owner of the silver '69 Camaro.....in your case I like the term "duplicate" as it in no way harms the idea of your theme. You are 100% honest in the description and personally, I applaud you for doing so. IMO, "clone" "recreation" "tribute" seem to mean that only a portion of the original is being represented. Often times cars are advertised as "clones" or such, when the only thing in common with the original is perhaps a stripe kit. Sorta like a SBC '69 Camaro or Chevelle with Yenko stripes. I like to use the term "imposter" when a car is restored and represented as a true model (LS-6, W-30, W-31, SS, Z/28) and then scrutinized by educated "car guys" and exposed as a fake. I'm getting a little "long in the tooth" here, but I really wanted to make my point on the presentation regarding the gorgeous multi-hued Camaro above.
And Jeff, a big THANKs for starting this thread....one of the best!!!! And YES, STANCE IS IMPORTANT!!! |

How's this for stance? I had one very similar to this that my brother gave me when I turned 16 and he reinlisted in the Air Force. I am currently looking for another 54 Chev so that I can replicate the car.

Boy -- those had to be a handful on the big end. I had a 49 Anglia w/SBC and an old 4sp Hydra-Matic -- when changing gears at WOT it was hard tellin' where it was going! TAZ

Re: Is "stance" important?
Well, I guess I would have to be here on the world's GREATEST SUPER CAR FORUM to try and be the 500,000 viewer since I started this thread, but it did' work out.
In any event, my New Age SuperCar now sits beside 'Ol Yeller and looks like they have mutual respect thus far. For me, it's going to tough to take one out and leave the other. Of course, Jr has already offered his ZL1 Services on cruise days. Whattaya guyz think? Here is a nice stance 'benchmark'.
I drool over this car, everytime I see it. Looks crazy good without a front bumper too! https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/FL0116-...se-III/4-Speed/ |

I can't see that thing making a slow speed turn without the wheel lip being into the tire. |
Re: Is "stance" important?
That Camaro is beautiful, but with those size rear tires, that thing needs to sit up about 2" more in the rear. Really looks like it would hit the rear tires on the smallest bump.

Re: Is "stance" important?
Here's my version of "stance" until I get the new rims and tires I'm saving for.
