Ken, I'm glad this "setback" to your health was caught early. You, your ambition, and your work ethic are an inspiration to me and many others here. Glad you're OK.

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
The Windshield will be installed later this week and another one of those PITA deals to deal with are the windshield clips......the screws sent in the Repro kit with the clips didn't have a chance in hell of working......Again.....these guys sell this crap and we get stuck trying to make it work.....Lucky for me, I have a complete machine shop to play with, but the average guy in his garage would be screwed trying to fix this little problem......Anyhow, here's a before and after of the screws......
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06277.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06278.jpg Screwed in............. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06281.jpg Clip installed.......... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06280.jpg I also got all the A/C lines finished and installed along with the heater hoses........I ordered some of those heat shrink clamps this time.........we will see how good they work..... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06282.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06283.jpg I also got the ECM and the TCM mounted on the inner fender panel..... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06285.jpg The list of things to do is still long......but, it's getting shorter... |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
The clamps work awesome. They are a PITA if you have to remove something. I started to use them on most everything that is not a resto.
Looks good Ken! |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
If you care to, a little thinner takes off the printing on the clamps.
The parts you purchased from Ride Tech, is that a stock height coil over or is it lowered Ken? looks good! Tim |

Tim </div></div> I had two batches of the clamps....the thinner took off the white printing on most of them.....the ones with green printing were stubborn and wouldn't come off........The coil overs are adjustable and I really haven't messedwith them yet!! Dave is coming over next Saturday to get started on the wiring.......... Ken |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
I hope you are right.
We always use the twin Spal fans and shroud on our conversions for insurance. Good luck. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: kwhizz</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Bruce.....I had a friend down the street Water Jet it out for me......Hemi....no need for a shroud.....LS engines never get hot!!.......(Those famous last words.....LOL)</div></div> |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
How about a live feed from the shop today?
|
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
O.K.........The first item that needed to be adressed was to get the upper radiator hose pieced together and in the correct positions......I had to piece together a couple of hoses and get them connected together.........I made a couple of adaptors at the shop to accomplish this.....
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06324.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06325.jpg This second adaptorjoin the 1 5/16" hose (from the LS engine) to the 1 1/2" (fitting at the Radiator) and I ended up installing a hose barb fitting for the LS steam line from the heads.... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06326.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06327.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06337.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06338.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06341.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06339.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC06340.jpg |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Cool stuff Ken!
|
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Dave came over and we started by powering up the fuel pump.....the pump ran but we had no fuel pressure at the rails.....WTF......Checked at the filter ....no fuel,.....but we could hear the pump running and fuel flowing inside the tank.....Hummm!!.....Pull the tank down and found that I didn't have the push on fitting inside the tank snapped on fully and when the line built some pressure it blew itself off.....an hour later it was back in the car and built pressure.....Bingo!!.....That was easy...."AND"........The moment of truth........... Click on the pic and see what happened........LS Engines "ROCK"....
