I found this deal on Amazon to be the best on double sided pads and quick connect adapter.

https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-33661-Qui...+polishing+pads

I bought my compounds and polish from local jobber, in quarts and gallons.... this doesn't look like a bad start for pints and pads either. Just can't tell if the pads are quick connect..but it doesn't appear to come with the adapter.

----I should have thought of other ways to access 3M stuff, but I try to buy from local places whenever I can. Kinda ingrained into my little pea-sized brain.......Bill S

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"

I added the grille and radiator blackout and starting to add a few parts here and there. It gets kind of sloppy with slight overspray on the upper support and spotty coverage behind bolts based on the spray pattern. I looked at several survivor cars to replicate the psttern. I'm refinishing the gas tank and waiting on a few more parts to come in so i can get the tank and lines installed. After that, it comes off the twirler for the last time!!!

Parts lined up. Looking like a mini Lynch Road plant in here! Was that the whistle??? All I need is the roach-coach to show up at break time to be Uber authentic. Actually, I better not. I'll probably tear that down and restore it too

Added a few things in the engine bay. Wiper motor is out and will be back probably in January. The engine harness is NOS and probably the last one on the planet!

----It was funny when you mentioned your name, Molnar as I have an old friend in Ohio named Dick Molnar who was a big Mopar guy for years and years. He could really make a 440 sing. His nickname around Seville area as well as Dragway 42 was Mr. Mopower!......Bill S

In continuing on the continuation of wetsanding, I'm done and the car is buffed out. Good news? No compound residue anywhere. Bad news? While painting, I bumped into the workbench which, not realizing it, awakened the Giant Mothra who then landed on my fender.

Swooping down like a terradactyl on an unsuspecting cave dude. I was able to get most of it out, but I'm not happy. I'm debating what to do and the first thing will be a magnifying glass, dental pick, and the cat like steadiness that I inherited from my Hungarian heritage. What that has to do with anything, I don't really know. But I make a darn good Chicken Paprikash! So, I'll try and get it out that way then dab on some clear. My second option is to divert attention to it at all costs. If I see someone looking in that direction I'll scream out something to distract them and redirect their gaze. I can see it now..."Wow Dave. Nice paint! Engine bay looks great. Let me walk around here and..." "Booobs!" [Me yelling and pointing off into the distance at nothing]. And after they are distracted, bring them back down to reality and say, "Hey, let me show you the door handle! It's chrome and shiney! OoooOOOoo shiney shiney!!" But seriously, If it comes down to it, I'll just reshoot the whole car. Should be pretty simple at this point!

Here's the door and fender polished up!

If you remember back a few pages, I found this parts tag in the driver's quarter window.

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-img_5302.jpg

I made a replica of it and hung it back in the same area I found it so some other moron 47yrs later will find it when they restore the car again.

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...028_125838.jpg

I also made copies of the Broadcast sheet and hung it in the window like they did back in the day. I think further down the line the sheet was hung on the front of the car by the grille. I trying to add some realism to the car during this process, so I'm also thinking of putting on a set of coveralls, add a few tattoos, then right as the car is about to meet up with the engine at a critical moment, yell out, "breeeak time!"

Stay tuned for upcoming episodes of "This old Bee" where you'll hear such famous quotes as, "Why do I have so many bolts left over? " and "Huh. Three sets of door weatherstripping. Huh....it's for a Camaro?" And of course, "I just had that dang 1/2" wrench in my hand two friggin' minutes ago! Where is it!?!?! These freakin' cars, stupid hobby, lousy country club and their stupid rules! Oh, express checkout, huh? Why is my lane slower than the others? BAH!!!"

I'm thinking of writing a book after this. "Restoring the American Dream: What NOT to do when building your dream car". Forward by the whole Yenko.net Forum and a forwarded forward by Bob Ashton [although he doesn't know it yet]

Cheers

Actually - there was a big cardboard version of the Broadcast sheet that usually hung off the hood.....a friend found one in one car all folded up inside the pass side door. BTW - Car looks great!

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"

Well Jim, now I have to go and make that! Thanks! I know there was a larger version of the sheet but didn't know about where it was placed. Very interesting and thanks for sharing!

Incidentally, I have 5 broadcast sheets for my 2016 Scat Pack Challenger, and it includes the big sheet that says "Final" on it. Three of the sheets have tape on them where they were hung on the car! Really neat. Also, I have a contact at Chrysler who ran my VIN and my Scat is a a very early build ando a 1 of 1

Guess I'm going to have to blow that sheet up and hang it from the hood....Oh wait....

Cheers
