I like how it was published under UPC 6 (the engine section) even though it was essentially a vehicle package and not just an engine offering. I had almost forgotten that I used to write those kind of documents, for GM Truck. One of the copies I saved was for "Project Maria", which is what became the Hummer H2. I donated this and a number of other documents to the GM Heritage Center archives. A question came up in the eBay section pertaining to a car's color. Some colors look different under different lighting situations: Bright Outdoor, Cloudy Outdoor, Shade Outdoor, Florescent Indoor, etc.
In 1968, Olds offered Scarlet Red as an RPO color. All three of these 442s are reportedly the same color: https://i.postimg.cc/zG1bsDTs/1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/MG6cGsPt/ca0813-161338-1-2x.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/s2TMGpbz/65.jpg |
i dont know about the color, but the stripes are wrong on both converts..the coupe has the correct location...the 442 emb is in a diff place with the stripes

BTW - from what I see in my internet travels - about 80% of 1968 442s with the stripes are wrong. |
Love all the info on the 67 Z/28. Still kicking myself for passing on a red one with white stripes and black interior, in the fall of 71. Original engine trans and rear. I put a hurst shifter in it in 1970 in the driveway at my best friend's house. He offered it to me for $1,000 bucks, and I passed. He bought a brand new Cutlass to drive to college. The Z/28 just wasn't that friendly of a road car. Sadly, he died before the end of that first semester at college.
The car ended up totaled by another great friend (we are still friends today) and was junked. |
